committees guide the direction of ladle to ignite meaningful change on campus

Committees meet once per month to discuss operational or policy changes at Ladle. Committees contribute to special projects, policies, and create proposals for board consideration.

Committee Opportunities

  • Anti-Oppression Committee

    The Anti-O team ensures commitment to anti-racism, decolonization, anti-capitalism, and social justice work at the Ladle. Members will work to create policy, culture, and outreach that reflects the communities we serve and where folks are empowered to show up as their full authentic selves

  • Kitchen Committee

    The Kitchen Committee supports the growth of the Ladle community kitchen. This includes meal preparation, meal planning, and resourcing ethical foods and supplies for the kitchen. The Kitchen Committee is encouraged to volunteer during prep and serving hours when possible, however, not required.

  • Community Engagement Committee

    The Community Engagement Committee builds external partnerships and engagement strategies to build awareness about the Loaded Ladle. This committee is passionate about connecting Ladle to the greater HRM through our online presence, community events, and campaigns.

  • Sexton Committee

    The Sexton Committee Supports meals served on Dalhousie’s Sexton Campus. The Loaded Ladle is looking to expand out presence on Sexton and provide more free meals. This committee assists in meal preparation, kitchen development, policy, and front line negotiation with the Dalhousie Student Union. Sexton Students are strongly encouraged to apply.
