Help create a sourcing guide

Does ethical consumption exist under capitalism? Perhaps not - but when we are in the rush to help servings happen for 200+ people a day, for four days a week, sometimes we find ourselves in need of making essential last-minute purchases! We are looking for someone(s) to work with our Kitchen Coordinator to build an index of sources that cause less strain on the environment, support the local community, advance food sovereignty, and hold values of sharing!

Why? How we provide free food is as significant as the fact we provide free food! We have always prioritized purchasing local, using second when we can, and thinking creatively about how we acquire food/materials/etc! But as we get to the day-to-day, thinking outside of the box gets a bit difficult, so we need your fresh ideas!

Also, we want our sourcing to be informed by the community we serve!

This “guide” can look like whatever you have the capacity for - it may even be a string of meetings! Email volunteer@loadedladle.com to get started!
